Smriti Mandhana is an Indian cricketer who plays for the Indian Women's cricket team. She is a left-handed batswoman and occasional right-arm off-break bowler. She was born on 18 July 1996 in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
Mandhana started playing cricket at the age of nine, and in 2013, she was selected to play for Maharashtra Under-19 team. In the same year, she was also selected to play for the Indian Under-19 team. She made her debut for the senior Indian team in April 2013 in a One Day International match against Bangladesh.
In 2018, Mandhana was named the ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year. She was also the first Indian cricketer to be signed by an overseas Twenty20 franchise, when she joined the Brisbane Heat in the Women's Big Bash League.
Mandhana is known for her aggressive batting style and has scored five centuries and nine fifties in her international career. In the 2018 Women's World T20, she scored the fastest fifty by an Indian in Twenty20 Internationals.
In the 2019 Women's Cricket World Cup, Mandhana scored a total of 426 runs at an average of 42.6 and was the second highest scorer in the tournament. She was also the first Indian to score a double century in a Women's One Day International match.
Mandhana has won several awards for her performances, including the Arjuna Award in 2019 and the BCCI Women's Cricketer of the Year in 2018. She was also named the Wisden Leading Woman Cricketer in the World in 2019.
